Dragon's Egg

Material:
Willow Burr - Stained Oak Base

35cm x 25cm

This shape developed quite naturally from a piece of timber available. After cutting off the corners with the chainsaw, the egg-shape was revealed.

Once the surface finishing was completed, the “magic” process of oiling and wax-polishing brought out the wonderful richness and variety in the natural colours of this highly unusual piece of timber.

The result is a visually fascinating piece of sculpture, to be viewed from any angle. A rarity indeed; but then, dragon’s eggs are a very rare commodity!
